Birchcraft
A
beautiful, durable finished wood product must begin with
careful preparation of the new wood. Birchcraft
painstakingly hand-sands every exposed surface, both inside
and outside, of its cabinets and component parts using
progressively finer sanding paper until each cabinet and
component part feels flawless to the touch.
After
complete removal of all dust created by multiple
hand-sanding operations, a wiping stain is applied to the
carefully prepared wood surfaces and blended by hand to
accentuate the richness of the wood. The pigments is
Birchcraft's wiping stain are highly resistant to fading and
act as a filler that adds to the overall depth of the
finishing system.
After
staining, a vinyl sealer is applied to all finished surface
effectively encasing the product in a plastic-like envelope
which is extremely moisture resistant. All cabinets and
component parts are again hand sanded to provide a flawless
surface for the final coat of varnish.
A catalyzed
varnished is spray applied to a thickness of five to six wet
mills and forms the final protective coat. This smooth,
virtually impregnable finish is the result of careful
preparation, superior materials and careful application.

the fact, which only created a false impression of
smoothness while actually attracting accumulations of dirt
and cooking grease.
